Yin Yoga - Still, Deep and Quiet.

I often incorporate Iyengar restorative poses into my Yin sequences to create an invigorating fusion that enhances the unwinding of tension. In Yin and Restorative Yoga, we learn to listen to the immediate feedback from the body and then have the opportunity to open more deeply to receive the wisdom of this mindful connection. We use poses like frog, pigeon, and bound angle, which are held for one to 10 minutes, gently softening into the poses supported and unsupported to meet each body's needs. This process flushes out toxins, increases blood flow and gently mobilizes joints, bones, and connective tissue. The result is increased mobility with less effort. By releasing tension and adhesions in the fascia—due to aging, injuries, and patterned movements—we experience a heightened sense of comfort and lightness. Simply put, These practices open us and can deeply calm the mind and relax the body.

It encompasses various methods aimed at helping individuals understand their true nature, unconstrained by psychological, cultural, and philosophical influences. Yoga embodies a non-dual comprehension of existence, blending the human experience with the divine. This practice involves embracing everything as it is, rejecting nothing.
Some of the benefits include improved sleep, pain relief, stress management, anxiety reduction, trauma resolution, and self-discovery.
Hatha Yoga
Alignment focused & creative sequencing.
Michelle's classes focus on creative and intelligent sequencing, emphasizing isometrics and proper alignment to strengthen, elongate, and create space. The classes may involve both slow flows and longer held poses. Michelle makes use of various props like bands, blocks, pilates magic circle, straps, blankets, and bolsters to enhance the poses and explore different movements. Her classes are 90 minutes long, starting with dynamic sequencing and followed by a restorative cool down and/or a guided breathing practice. Be prepared for a deep savasana at the end. Your welcome to join even without props.
